We have a requirement to teach programming using Python.

The first step has been to use Portable Python from USB memory sticks, which just about works but is clumsy. Raspberry PIs are a bit clunky and mean more kit in our small rooms/stuff to get out/put away.

Setting up a virtual machine has been suggested.

Can anyone point me to the details of what you have to do to set up a VM to run Python over a school network?

i.e.

What do you need?

What do you do with it?

There's always portable python. Host the exe(s) somewhere and run from a shortcut. Not done it, but might get round to it one day.
