Grey-gear Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Almost that time agian, I wondering if anyone esle here will be watching. It's nice to think that UK is not going to be the most politically hate act in the show as the Russians have made it to the finals. What are your thoughts?
teejay Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Watched the first semi final last night, bit of bloc voting by the ex Soviet Union countries but what do you expect ;-) I must be a glutton for punishment, but we watch it every year, you just have to have the right mindset or just be blind drunk.
Andrew_C Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Pass me the hot needles. I'll be in the corner poking my eyes out. 3
Grey-gear Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 I'll have alot of beer and watch thinking what fun will we have this year, and then after the voting I try and guess the outcome of each country (it's fun)
laserblazer Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The artists are cr@p but you have to admire the camera crews.
tmcd35 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I tend to find 1 or 2 songs each year worth adding to the iPod, never the British entry for some reason.
Grey-gear Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 The artists are cr@p but you have to admire the camera crews. That looked awsome

X-13 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I'll have alot of beer watch at the same time with beers Eurovision drinking game: Take a drink every time the vote is political.
Earthling Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Eurovision Song Contest? Is that nonsense still running?
Grey-gear Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Eurovision drinking game: Take a drink every time the vote is political. I don't think I'll be drink that much.
CAM Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 When is it on? Was fun watching it at Expo, always keep an eye on Twitter too...
Grey-gear Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 (edited) When is it on? Was fun watching it at Expo, always keep an eye on Twitter too... Should be on this Saturday on BBC 1. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-27306108 Here is some news from the Simi-finals. Edited May 7, 2014 by Grey-gear
ICTDirect_Dave Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Eurovision drinking game: Take a drink every time the vote is political. Nah, that's for wimps! Pick a nation (not your home one) and take a drink for every point they receive!
LosOjos Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I don't think I'll be drink that much. I think you've already had too much
AMLinington Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Pass me the hot needles. I'll be in the corner poking my eyes out. ^ This. I never watch Eurovision. Even if the terrible music wasn't bad enough (although Dana International's entry the year she won was pretty catchy) the voting is so rigged and political that the whole thing is meaningless. I actively don't care and will go out of my way to watch anything else.

I think you totally misunderstand the point of watching Eurovision... 1) Listening to the barely concealed sarcasm from Terry Wogan, and now Graham Norton 2) Listening to how bad the UK entry is - it always amazes me they think the dross we send over each year is worth more than nill points 3) Seeing if the UK can actually make in to double digits 4) The political voting - it's a laugh in and off itself 5) Finding the 2 good enteries - and then being disappointed when they barely score above the UK But mostly - it's about Graham Nortons commentry.

LOL yeah, he started out so optimistic and got more cynical as time went on. It's quite funny.
SovietRussia Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Lets hope the UK actually does well this year, as always I seem to annoy the entire of my Facebook Friends list as I continue to post a song-by-song commentary on my Facebook, might keep up the tradition this year :3
Grey-gear Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 I think you've already had too much Shh or my boss will here you
SiliconAlley_Sam Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Eurovision is such a guilty pleasure. Will be getting the Dominos and a few drinks in!
teejay Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 BBC 3 now for the second semi final, time for the 'bearded lady'
Alkaline Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I like to watch when the votes come in, they show all the different countries, and most of them won't shut up, just keep talking crap rather than saying the result. 1
Grey-gear Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 WOOOW we did come last thats a win in my book
