Hi guys

Recent projects mean that I need to get an underground fibre link installed between two of our buildings, around 250 meters apart and separated by a public highway, in the Birmingham area.

Can anyone recommend a company that they have used before to undertake these works?

Cheers

It would be quite an undertaking, especially as it goes across a public highway, you would need dispensation from the council, highways agencies etc. Enjoy with that. Also, Virgin are good for laying fibre, as they're quick and reliable, and usually have a good standard of work when it comes to laying fibre.

Have you looked at ubiquiti m5 to create a wireless link.

Or a Ligowave kit. We've been running one for nearly 4 years and it's been pretty much flawless.

You'll need to do a road crossing, a PITA with the council and costs a fair bit of wadge.

If your getting someone to dig it you'll need to get section 50's in at the council at about £250 a pop, not including the road crossing.

May pay you to ask a company with code powers to do the work.

Indeed. This is what I'd do - I'd get a cabling company to do it as then they've got the headache, and you just pay them.
