If they were warned about it and did nothing then that is inexcusable...

I should qualify my earlier post by saying that its anecdotal at the moment and its not clear who knew else knew, but yes, if true, its inexcusable, and, I imagine, someone will be legally responsible.

Terrible news. Its not that school's first major incident either! Poor kid! RIP.

Another kid died on 22 December playing football for an U14 match for Tyneside FC (sounds not linked to the school?). And in 2011, a pupil fell down a lift shaft but thankfully survived. Sounds like council H&S will have a field day.
