On a personal basis this one, and nothing to do with the school...i managed to delete my entire music collection of my computer last night.

To say it caused a little aggravation is an understatement, but I was wondering if there is any way of getting them all back, without having to reload all of my CD's on the computer again...which would take DAYS!

I did a search on here last night, as I remember someone saying they used a program to recover files....but I couldnt find out the name of it.

It needs to be freeware, as I refuse to pay £25+ for a program I am going to use once (hopefully!!)

I d/loaded one program as a trial, and it picked up all the songs...but then said "to recover them, you need to pay" so i exited it and found a free program...but when I used this, all it kept saying is "cannot read from source file"

Is there anything you nice guys would recommend?!

Please?!!!

Unless your files were on a different drive to the one you're installing the recovery software to, you stand to loose some of the files if you keep installing recovery software. I have a nice tool at home that runs from a floppy drive (or cd) and as such does not need to be installed. Can't remember what it's called right now though.
