Image on white screen

Hello folks, should the image fill a white screen to the edges if the correct projector and white screen have been used and installed correctly?

Ideally yes. Usually you have a black border to fit up against.

 

But then you need to take into account resolution. If it's a 16:9 screen and only 4:3 projector then it may not work.

 

Same goes for laptop. If it's sending a 4:3 image the projector May project as that so again on a 16:9 screen will not fill it.

Thanks Snagrat, it's a motorised screen and we're left with adjusting the height to make the image fit, we think 1 aspect ratio should be a near perfect fit and the others would be a trade off but non are perfect fits.

When you say adjust the height what exactly do you have to do?

The screen is motorised so we lower it down until the bottom of the screen is level with the bottom of the image. It could be this is what a lot of schools need to do but we thought one aspect ratio would be nigh on perfect.

Is it that you are expecting the screen to go to the correct position automatically without you manually adjusting where it lands?

I'm not explaining it very well. When the screen is fully down there is a large border at the bottom, so the screen height needs adjusting to fit the image better, I'll attach a pic.

Looks like you have a 4:3 aspect screen (when fully unfurled) and a 16:9 aspect image.

 

You will have to adjust the amount of unfurl to get what you want.

If you change resolution to 1024x768 does it fill the screen when fully down?

 

If you are using 16:9 all the time then some screens let you adjust how lower they come. Can't see screen make/model in pics though

Tried all resolutions and aspect ratios but it doesn't fill the screen like the old proj.

The 2nd photo also shows a slightly larger gap on the bottom right part of the image but fairly straight at the top. This would indicate the projector is not lined up correctly and needs moving further left or moving the screen further right.

Can't you just go into the projector menu and set it to 4:3?

 

I've had to do that here a few times because it was on [iirc]native.
