Wow this thread grew fast.

 

There used to be red, too, for those who had received more negative than positive feedback (i.e. trolls), but there was lots of petty squabbling whenever negative rep was left and it made partaking in any of the "big 2" topics (religion & politics) an almost guaranteed way to lose some rep. [i dare say I fell in to some of those squabbles, for shame!]

 

It's better now that only positive rep can be given and sanctions are left to the mods :)

 

Pretty much why it was disabled and a lot of neg rep was cleared out of the system too.

 

Hmmm sure about that? I was able to give a few red dots out after the supposed neg rep wipe...

Maybe @ZeroHour needs to confirm if something is up here and I am not supposed to have neg-rep super-powers for evil injustice...

 

Bang and the option is gone! along with any neg rep you have handed out since we made the switch :D

 

There was supposed to be another one for people on the Edugeek Panel but I don't think it ever happened...what happened to the panel @ZeroHour?

 

Oh and no you can't get supporter anymore.

 

The panel group etc does still exist although we have never used it properly yet as we had intended. The panel will be called into action as soon as we decide what path we are going down post vbulletin so watch this space ;)

 

Supporter was originally automatically given out to people who donated then we removed donations and now hand it out on occasion (admittedly rarely) or if say a mod is forced to leave due to conflict of interest.

Currently the only way to use signature links involves being in the supporter group or sponsors group due in part to the huge amount of link spam abuse although I do plan to correct this for long time users, a lot has been held up while we evaluate other software for the site though.

However the 'Mod's Liquid Refreshment Fund' (or MLRF, pronounced "MUUULERF" ) still accepts donations.... ;)

Whilst on the subject of rep...

 

Some of you may not be aware that in the browser version of the site you can go to Community > Member List and then sort by rep or number of posts (just click on the column heading) to see who is top/bottom of the pile.

Absolutely did not know that and have not been checking that page as each month has gone by and certainly did not smile a little happy smile when I got to the front page because that would be really sad and investing far too much in a meaningless number mostly based on how much amusing rubbish I've spouted over the last four years. No sirree. None of that.
