sparkeh Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Well the 'tic tacs' relate to how much rep and thanks you have received. So depending on the user it reflects how many helpful they are at helping people with problems, or how many amusing videos of cats playing piano they have posted. So what it actually means is open to interpretation You can only see the last few posts you have received rep for by clicking 'settings' at the top right of the full website and scrolling down. You can't see this in mobile app.

There is a formula behind the scenes that works out a combination of your rep(thanks) received, the rep you give out and the length of time that you have been posting. Only ZeroHour knows what it is and he doesn't tell You can see the last 6 lots of rep that you have received on the browser version of edugeek by clicking on settings and scrolling down. You can only give thanks in the mobile app; in the browser version you can also add to a user's reputation. The points counting towards your 'tictacs' could increase dramatically if this is given as you get more depending on the rep of the person who has given it to you. 2
Gatt Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 What about the stars above them - or more specifically the colours of them - I notice some are grey and some are bronze or copper colour I know that when you get to certain rep levels, the 'tic-tacs' disappear and a star appears.. - just not sure about the colours..
elsiegee40 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) The tictacs go through green, bright green and gold and then when you have the maximum number of those they are replaced with a single bronze star. The counter starts on the tictacs again until you earn another star. LosOjos Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 There used to be red, too, for those who had received more negative than positive feedback (i.e. trolls), but there was lots of petty squabbling whenever negative rep was left and it made partaking in any of the "big 2" topics (religion & politics) an almost guaranteed way to lose some rep. [i dare say I fell in to some of those squabbles, for shame!] It's better now that only positive rep can be given and sanctions are left to the mods

I heard a rumour that you ascend to EduDemiGodhood, though that apparently that involves fanning @Dos_Box with Palm Leaves and peeling grapes for him.
