localzuk Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 How are people managing app installs from the Microsoft App Store on Surface RT tablets? We're at a bit of a loss as to how to do this sensibly, on shared devices, without giving our 'pupil' account on the devices access to the Microsoft account.
robjduk Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I hear SCCM 2012R2 can do this as a managed mobile device however I have not put that into practise yet.
localzuk Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 It can, but only if you have an InTune subscription which integrates into it.
joe90bass Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 I've just come up against the same problem! Have you come up with a solution yet? Thankfully I've only got 19 to install one app on for pupils so it won't be a major headache this time, but in the future it could be!
joe90bass Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Aargh! Anyone any solutions for this. I've found the policy to completely disable the store, but I ideally only want to stop pupils downloading apps, but the apps we do have installed (only Zinio at the moment) to still be able to update.
fairm010 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 You say "policy", where is this policy? Are there others that can restrict how these are used?
joe90bass Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 You need to enable the local group policy service and then set in Local computer group policy object > user config > admin templates > Windows components > Store > Turn off the store application
