Macbook for iPad Trolley

I am currently awaiting delivery of our Big Grips iPad trolley. I have noticed that almost every review/guide I have read since ordering the trolley (8 week delivery time!!!) seems to use a MacBook. Is this because the Macbook will work with less problems than Windows, or they just had a big budget to spend?

 

Is everyone else using a MacBook or could I use a basic Windows laptop? Or as my ICT coordinator suggested a 10m USB across the room to the nearest CC4 desktop.

Apple Configurator run from a Mac is a far more powerful tool than any of the Windows options (iPhone Configuration Utility) so most choose to use a Mac. We use an iMac, but a little Mac Mini is also sufficient.

For managing apps, profiles, sync and such like you'll be fine with Windows @themanfromict but the best outcome will depend on what management software you'll use, be it iTunes, MDM or something else.

I've just found out they are ordering 35 more of the buggers.... They are for English, who didn't look after their laptops, so goodness knows what's going to happen to these. I've just about given up, I need to replace computer that are broken, not add to our ICT assets
