mavhc Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 We've decided to not pay for Fronter any more, is there any way to export everything that's faster than the room export method?
Oaktech Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) We've done this. We were told that there was no way of getting useful info out as everything is completely custom and won't map to any other VLE. We've basically started again with a combination of Moodle and Edmodo Edited January 7, 2014 by Oaktech
localzuk Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I'm afraid we abandoned the work we'd done with it too, as exporting it was nearly entirely pointless as importing it elsewhere just didn't work quite right.
BKGarry Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Interesting, I am currently setting up Moodle, but we still have fronter (have had it for 5 years now) looking at running both in tandem, but it does seem that the least amount of stuff made to work with it, and to top it off, has anyone brought an ActiveTeach disc recently, no more scorm content and 1 user to access it online in their portal that times out for 30 mins if you have typed in the password wrong 3 times and it has the audacity to still have the VLE Compatible tick, this is the same company (well parent company) and they will not make anything that works with one ad other. /rant
localzuk Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Yup, we have ActiveTeach - I have stayed away from it. Seems awful to me.
bonjour Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 We're currently in the process of migrating away from Fronter. After playing around with exports and imports for a bit, I've decided to transfer the content (that's been requested) manually. It's better to adapt the content anyway, as it can be presented in a far nicer way in Moodle. We were lucky in that Fronter has not been used extensively, so I only have about 20 rooms of significance to transfer. It was interesting that Fronter's presence at BETT this year was practically zero, even at the Pearson stall.
10101010 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 We're paid up until April 2015 and then I can say goodbye to Fronter as well. Would be interested to hear which platforms you've chosen to go with?
