How did our respective homes, garden, trees, cars etc survive?

 

I've noticed one tile on the ground so far (and had to retrieve my bin from a neighbours garden...). If that is all then not bad.

A fir tree has fallen from next door's garden into ours crushing a fence panel and taking a load of live wiring with it. My other neighbour has his garden underwater and seeping into ours and a very large tree in the midst of it easily in falling distance of the house. Over the road, sections of fence from another neighbour have been shredded and scattered into the pavement and the dual carriageway down the road is flooded and has trees all over it.

 

Got off lightly I reckon.

Some moss blew off the roof onto my nice clean car.

Not too bad here but did have to brave the rain and wind to secure our fence before it hit someone's car. :S

One broken fence post, one close boarded panel down and a second has swung like a gate blocking access to our garden. Teenage son and husband going out after breakfast to move the latter so we can see what else is damaged.

 

Lots of flooding and trees down locally. Two of son's mates have written off their cars; one drove into flood water. I think he now understands why we refused to let him go to the cinema 4 miles away with another mate driving late last night.

Collected the rubish from the road on Sunday which is normal as our wheelie bin goes walkies in a light breeze..

 

Nowt else but we don't get silly extreem weather up here.

Got woken up pre dawn by the phone going off. it was the neighbor telling me that we where flooded.

Whilst we where looking at the damage another neighbor had a ivy hedge/fence that had came down. But they where going away and it was blocking the alleyway and had to be moved. no before shots but it was about 5ft of ivy/ blocking the way.

Nothing other than some big puddles here. Had some nice hail an hour ago - wasn't smug at all that mrwITch was out walking the dog whilst I finished off the Christmas bits and pieces in the nice warm house!

It was under the floor boards nothing got wet unlike some of our neighbors.

Tonbridge has the highest water levels since October 2000. Sainsbury's is an island surrounded by water. Fortunately, it was built raised, with gangways going to it so the store is till open... parking is a bit dodgy though!

River Wey and River mole have burst their banks. Sections of Box Hill, Guildford and a number of small villages are flooded with road and rail blockages everywhere. Brighton mainline is also hit with fallen trees being cleared just for landslides to trigger between Gatwick and Croydon.

 

Thank goodness I live on a hill!

Had a bit of felt tear off on the shed but I've managed to nail it back down. It's due to be replaced anyway. I hope nobody has any serious issues, especially if they affect tomorrow's festivities.

My poor sister, out in the New Forest, has had no power since last night. She hasnt been able to do her final bits of cooking and they dont want to open the fridge or freezer either. Luckily they have a wood burner and are going elsewhere on Christmas day but it isnt a great start to the festivities

Tonbridge town centre is going under. The High Street is being evacuated as the Medway floods worse than it did in 2000. Thankfully I live on a hill, but many friends are in trouble

The fence between us and the noisy neighbours came down on Xmas Eve. LeBoyfriend has braced it up but now it's sagging the other way. According to our documentation, said neighbours are responsible for that fence line. That'll be a fun conversation to have...

It's very (very) windy here in Preston today (50-60 mph). It was also recycling day, so there is papers, cans, recycling bins and other stuff all flying around the neighborhood!

Speak to them and if they don't get their ass in gear speak to the council. It is their duty to maintain party boarders.

Well winds took out a fence post and two panels over night had to rescue one pannel before it damaged the neighbours car.

 

Been out and re-infoced one panel and fixed a split fence out back.

 

Seem to repair the same fence in different parts each year.
