Elky Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Oh, we can be hired out - hence the polo shirts - we provide IT support to local businesses and organisations in our area. Though we can't hit the receptionists in those businesses though.... Can you hit on them though?
tech_guy Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Little_Devil is based in Staffordshire. Strange, so are MikeSoft Blimey, what a coincidence!

We have rotas and we do a lot of rd stuff.
localzuk Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I mean, how does it work? As schools are not for profit aren't they?
Little_Devil Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 I just think that if some one is given a job to do it isn't fair that people accuse them of being rude etc etc. It is as you say STRANGE I am from Staffordhshire and as are Mikesoft, However my school deals with them and have found them very professional. As you may see from the previous posts Miksoft have mixed comments and the conclusion to the thread was that they were a decent company to work with. we don't all have to deal with large companies or tier one suppliers to get good value for money and customer service.
Little_Devil Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Ay what do you mean we never make a profit?
localzuk Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 That's right - we never make a profit. :-) Hmm... I shall investigate this further! It may be a nice way of getting some money back into the school...
richard.thomas Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 It's how my school does things. I'm on a placement year at a secondary school. They sell IT Support to 5 primary schools in the area. These schools basically pay the IT Staff's wages and even more so the 2 placement students. We have over a hundred Mikesoft computers, they're ok- Although we had a bad experience this time round. Our monitors for the 65 computers we ordered over summer came over a month late- On the first day of term (which as you can imagine, was less than great)- Also they 'lost' our OEM licenses... It's ok tho.. They've found them now!!
Uraken Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 mikesoft from staffordshire ummm has any one seen the http://www.theitsupportcentre.co.uk website recently particuarly the logo and phone number?
Uraken Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 i wonder whether is it a rogue sales person ? i used to deal with the IT support centre but they're sales rep forgot who was the customer recently after i made some constructive critism about they're after sales support so i go else where now but prior to that they were ok, i wonder whether they know of this?
FN-GM Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 It does raise questions why they are using two names or possibly more for all we know
Little_Devil Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 I am not a rogue sales person for Mikesoft, I thought that this was a site that people within IT could state their opions therefore I decdied to submit my thoughts to the topic...

Thats ok as long as we know its just that it does happen from time to time, welcome to Edugeek.

Elky Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 All this has given me an idea. I might change my name to Ian Tell - would make it a lot easier for me to speak to IT managers if I was to start cold calling. 'Yeah hi. Is it possible to speak to the person responsible for IT procurement at your school please? Who is calling? Tell them it's Ian Tell' No? I'll get me coat
Little_Devil Posted October 24, 2007 Posted October 24, 2007 If this seems to be the hostility that people recive for stating a minority opinion then I doubt I shall discuss any more..
