Popular Post VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Popular Post Posted December 4, 2013 Hi folks, The VeryPC online shop is now officially open! I have been going on about it for a while in the various competition threads we run, but the time has finally arrived. Our online shop is open and ready for business. From an online transaction point of view it is aimed at our home user customers, which is why the prices are full retail, but we still offer our significant discounts to education and volume purchasing customers like the IT techs and managers of the EduGeek community (like it says on the shop, just give us a call for a discounted quote). Whilst we don't expect schools, businesses etc to do their buying through the webshop, we do think that it will act as a really useful tool for you to browse our computer products and get a rough idea of the prices of the different units and configurations of each. Most of the products listed have loads of configuration options so you can see how the price is affected as you adjust the spec before you decide to contact us for your discounted quote. If the spec you are looking for isn't one of the online options though, just get in touch with us and we'll do you a custom quote matching your specific requirements. We can customise a computer any way you like (within reason!), so it would not have been practical to list every single possible option online. You can take a look for yourself right now at shop.very-pc.co.uk - if you feel like it, we would really value your feedback at this early stage to help us tweak it to perfection. Our MD @VeryPC_Andy has also posted a news article on our website (https://www.very-pc.co.uk/blog/verypc-online-shop-now-open) to announce the shop launch. ...and before I forget, I promised that I'd mention a few of you in the webshop announcement post so that you get a notification and don't miss the launch, so @mac_shinobi @hardtailstar @Rawns @X-13 @StevieM come on down! Looking forward to reading what you make of it. Al, the VeryPC marketing fella 11
X-13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Need more graphics options... What if I want a VeryPC branded gaming PC? [i sort-of do...] 3
Rawns Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Awesome! Very awesome! SUPER AWESOME! RAAAWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1
Rawns Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) For 'home' shoppers, is there a way to enable prices 'with' VAT rather than without? Edit: Ignore me. I opened a product and see it has 'with' Vat prices too. Is there a 'Discount code' field at checkout where if you put in 'BRING ME THE BOX!' you get an additional 98% off? X-13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 RAAAWWWWWWWWWWns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FTFY. It does look nice, and I like the customisation stuff. Especially the fact it says how much the different options are. [is Win7 home REALLY the same price as Win8.1?] 2
sparkeh Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 From an online transaction point of view it is aimed at our home user customers, which is why the prices are full retail, but we still offer our significant discounts to education and volume purchasing customers like the IT techs and managers of the EduGeek community (like it says on the shop, just give us a call for a discounted quote). Can I just clarify. Are you saying that the educational discounts are for products bought for school use, or do you mean that because you are incredibly nice, you are offering discounts to EG members for products purchased for home use?
X-13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 For 'home' shoppers, is there a way to enable prices 'with' VAT rather than without? Just underneath the non-VAT price is the VAT one. It'd be good if the edu discount was viewable. Even if it was tagged on an edu account as a customisable item.
sparkeh Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 For 'home' shoppers, is there a way to enable prices 'with' VAT rather than without? They are underneath the ex. vat prices.
Bradlys Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 I'm clicking on the image above but it's not opening my wish list ;p 1
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Need more graphics options... What if I want a VeryPC branded gaming PC? [i sort-of do...] Yep - that's coming in a future update. We decided to keep things simple for starters and will be adding more products, options, accessories etc as we go along. Thanks for the feedback. Al
featured_spectre Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Wow. VeryPC. Much Options. So Graphics. Such Doge 1
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 For 'home' shoppers, is there a way to enable prices 'with' VAT rather than without? Edit: Ignore me. I opened a product and see it has 'with' Vat prices too. Is there a 'Discount code' field at checkout where if you put in 'BRING ME THE BOX!' you get an additional 98% off? We wanted to lead with ex.VAT as we realise that most of our early browsers will be folks like you from schools and businesses etc, but of course the inc.VAT is there on each product page as you spotted. For that discount code you should get it for free surely, but fired at you through a giant cannon across the skies of Britain. Al 1
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 FTFY. It does look nice, and I like the customisation stuff. Especially the fact it says how much the different options are. [is Win7 home REALLY the same price as Win8.1?] Yup - remember that Windows 8.1 IS the 'home' option, not Windows 8.1 Pro Al
zag Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Nice work on the design, very clean. There seems to be a massive space at the bottom afte the footer though 1
X-13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Yup - remember that Windows 8.1 IS the 'home' option, not Windows 8.1 Pro Al I know, that's what I'm confused about... Surely, as the OLD version, Win7 should be cheaper than 8.1. Nice work on the design, very clean. There seems to be a massive space at the bottom afte the footer though What are you using? It looks fine with Chrome.
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Can I just clarify. Are you saying that the educational discounts are for products bought for school use, or do you mean that because you are incredibly nice, you are offering discounts to EG members for products purchased for home use? Just been speaking to our sales manager @VeryPC_Tom_B about this exact thing. We've decided that EduGeek users WILL qualify for the education discount if currently working in education IT. All you need to do is tell us your EduGeek username and your contact details at the school/college etc that you work for and we'll sell you as an individual the computer you want at the edu discount price (which is pretty hefty btw). Like the sound of that? Al 3
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Nice work on the design, very clean. There seems to be a massive space at the bottom afte the footer though Hmm... I don't see that - what browser are you using? Al
X-13 Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Like the sound of that? Does it also apply to stuff that ISN'T on the shop? [seriously, EDUdiscount on a gaming PC is likely a massive chunk of the cost off. Enough to get MOAR GRAFIKS!]
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 I know, that's what I'm confused about... Surely, as the OLD version, Win7 should be cheaper than 8.1 We get 7 and 8 at the same price from distribution (give or take a few pennies), so you get them at the same price from us. We don't add a premium for the new OS. To MS a license is a license essentially. Al
hardtailstar Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 noooooooooooooooooo!!!! @VeryPC I cant get on it! keep getting 'Page cannot be displayed', seems like its blocked by our filtering as a quick google bought up the contacts page and it said it was blocked however I did find this review: VeryPC Nano Sketch review | Expert Reviews 2
VeryPC Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Does it also apply to stuff that ISN'T on the shop? [seriously, EDUdiscount on a gaming PC is likely a massive chunk of the cost off. Enough to get MOAR GRAFIKS!] Yep - all VeryPC made products (which is all the computers basically) will be included, not just configs you can make on the shop. The amount of configurations we can offer is too vast to cram into a single online shop, so we only list for example a single i3, i5 and i7 CPU for each PC rather than the true gamut of processors available (wanna keep it simple for our home users). Configs outside the short list of options available on the shop are totally available if you contact us. GTG - I have a video to film on another thread! Al

SovietRussia Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Hmm... I don't see that - what browser are you using? Al Chrome 31
StevieM Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it! Nice work on the design, very clean. Tiles with at the top remind me of the whole Windows 8 thing. Simple and effective. Having the Education Discount notice in bright pink and white makes it really obvious. However, I would remove the grey bar just above it, adding the phone number to the pink box and moving the Search tool to the menu after 'Reviewed'. There seems to be a massive space at the bottom afte the footer though[/Quote] There is a space, but it doesn't appear too big; about the size of the scrolling graphics. It'd be good if the edu discount was viewable. Even if it was tagged on an edu account as a customisable item. We also have an account with BT/Dabs that, when we log in, shows our discounted price. Possibility? Just been speaking to our sales manager @VeryPC_Tom_B about this exact thing.
