Meteor Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Hi all, First time posting here and have a brief question. Our school has been looking into Vivo Miles. I can see that it is certainly possible to integrate with SIMS (SIMS to Vivo) but I cannot see any mention of the reverse. Would we be able to export data from Vivo and then import it into our SIMS system? Thanks
vikpaw Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) You're probably best of asking that to Vivo themselves or Capita. Usually import to SIMS is harder and costly for the third party, but if they are a Capita partner and being promoted, maybe they have that facility or could add it in the future. Edit: in terms of you doing it, there is no way to import behaviour in bulk, that i know of, for the end user. Edited December 2, 2013 by vikpaw late addition
Sylv3r Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 We haven't got it, but when I looked into it 18 months it wasn't possible then.
TheBinMan Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 (edited) We use SIMS and Vivo and as far as I know there's no way to export from Vivo into SIMS. The link to Vivo is great though, as staff can reward pupils directly from taking a Register and the points go into Vivo automatically. We also use Frog vle that has a handy Vivo widget that uses SSO to log kids straight into Vivo. It also displays their Vivo total on thier Frog homepage. Edited December 2, 2013 by TheBinMan
Meteor Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 So it sounds like it's not currently possible which is a shame, but I will try and get in touch with Vivo as vikpaw suggested just to be 100% sure before we move on. Thanks for the replies.
TheBinMan Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Sorry, didn't read the second part of your question. It might be possible to manually export from Vivo.as it allows you to export .csv files of totals etc. Not too sure how you would go about importing this into SIMS
Kyle Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 The link to Vivo is great though, as staff can reward pupils directly from taking a Register and the points go into Vivo automatically. We use Vivo and I thought this was not available yet? How did you or do you get this set up?
TheBinMan Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 It was set up by Vivo for us when we moved to Sims. Give them a call as their support is usually very good.
Kyle Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Apparently there are only a few schools trialling this and it has not been offered to all Vivo schools yet.
Ali-Edge Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 It's here! SIMS Write Back is here!! - VivoMiles Insights I'm yet to get it installed (obv), have asked about the possibility in the past so hope this will do what it says it will
Boredguy Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Love a typo page that the link above goes to. 3) The school must be using Windows Server 2008/2008 R2/2003 – 2013 is not currently supported Didn't think there was a Server 2013
Watty08 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 We use it with SIMS here. We only export from SIMS to VIVO though. We have encoureged staff to use SIMS and any achievement points called pulled through nightly to VIVO.
Ali-Edge Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 hhmm well I think for the write back the other way round, Vivo to SIMS, you need to reward just through Vivo, and this will then feed into a field in SIMS? I'm hoping to incorporate it into individual student reports in SIMS.
bossman Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 We must be one of the schools that has been trialling it as we have it hehe! I didn't even know! Well you live and learn, was just asked to install and setup for one of our SLT team members been using for about a year now nearly 3 years for Vivo Miles tho
Vivo Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hi, We're updating the typo, Sorry it should state Server 2012. We sent out the emails to our SIMS schools concerning the write back yesterday. As stated in the attached post to our insights blog there are a few caveats to the setup of SIMS WB: 1) The school must not be awarding through SIMS 2) The school must not be processing penalties in Vivo 3) The school must be using Windows Server 2008/2008 R2/2003 – Server 2012 is not currently supported 4) The school must be using SIMS version 7.152 or higher If you have any queries concerning this ask away.
