Best way to setup SCCM for a MAT
Watty08 replied to HereIGoAgain2601's topic in How do you do....it?
We use SCCM here and build our device collections on groups (with specific software for different groups). When add a device we specify which collection group then and it will re-build to the right dept. -
Very strange, migrated the documents back to the old server and it still didn't work. Which probably points to an installation error on my behalf. Cant seem to find a fresh install guide anywhere. I have got upgrade guides and a stand alone installation guide but no fresh install guide.

Just in Facility Mighty. Not installing eportal as off site access isn't needed any more. Yeah under database/document storage/ settings. The path for the folders are set to: \\servername\facility$\docstore\doc (and temp for the temporary one). I wondered if it was because of an hidden share but it worked ok on the last server. Thanks for the help on this, Its gratefully appreciated.

Just changed the "SQL Server Integration Service" and "SQL Full text filter" with a domain account for its login rather than built in service. Still no joy.

Ohhh I'm not sure, I didn't see that in the migration document. I'll have a quick look though thanks.

Thanks for the help everyone. I started looking Mighty but its not documents in sims that needs repairing, it is in facility. I've took Facility off of our MIS server to free up resources for SIMS (we're a Dell managed school and are limited to what we can install). Our exams officer and some admin staff often pop on to get old data for references and suck like. Luckily I took a vmware backup before I migrated Facility. The migrated instance still works ok but I don't want to stand that up for staff to use. I'm wondering whether to take a backup and restore it on the migrated Facility install.

Hello All, Sorry if this has been covered, I have had a quick search around and can't seem to find a thread on this. We have moved from Facility to SIMS but I have migrated Facility into a dark cupboard for historical data. All seems fine after the migration apart from the documents. I have installed the document server add on. Moved the documents folder to the new server and pointed to settings to the new folders. I have checked the shares and windows permissions and all seems ok. When looking at the documents they are not picking their document names up and when you try and open a file it says: That Document item no longer exists. Any help on this would massively appreciated as I've had to resort to "just for men" to hide the grey.

Sorry for joining this late on but I was just having a quick search to see how everyone adapted their filtering to match their school. One point not really mention on with filtering is although at a fundamental level your putting policies in place to protect the network and learning time. You are also put these in pace to safeguard both STAFF and students. When questions are raised about safe guarding you know you have done your part by stopping staff access to sites such as Facebook in school. I know I can safely say if member of time was questioned on their usage in work, they were not on such sites during work time.

We're having the same problem here, and guess what the council have said it an error at our side. I have made every connection exempt of filtering to their urls, added it to the trusted zones in I.E and removed Goolge Chrome (aparently that can cause issues, I cant see how). I'm starting susspect Derbyshire county council as one of their employees stated last week that he was only just going on some training for it! How have you got on Gong?

Could you take a machine out of action that has had the problem, add it to a new OU and try adding gps independantly. Might need a few different test users with different permisions and different level of GP's assigned to them.

We use it with SIMS here. We only export from SIMS to VIVO though. We have encoureged staff to use SIMS and any achievement points called pulled through nightly to VIVO.

Sure theres not two accounts? I have done this before and there was two students with the same initial and surname: dsmith and dsmith1. Poor dsmith had their password reset 3 or 4 times before I stopped being grumpy and went and tried. -
If it is an all in one solution where the vga plugs in, could you look at running a seperate VGA cable the projector as a work around. Sorry if this sounds condesending but just want to make sure. Its not an old Smart board with a serial connector instead of usb.

My old school used to use a company called Recycool for their toner collection. Not sure if they're still going?

We have just had a quote for 10k for smoothwall and thats without their hardware. We used RM Smart Cache before which was wasn't good but cost £490 pa. Its going to be a hard task pursuading the governors to stump up that much more!
