Image resizer for Windows 7

Download and run iview436_setup.exe then run from that location [Central server share?] or use Group Policy to copy the files/folders to your workstations. Create and deploy shortcuts.

 

Job done.

Install to a share on the server with the plugins first then push the out the shortcut to the program set for the groups who require it, excellent batch conversion for resizing all types of pictures.

 

Works brilliantly on Windows 7 probably the best free picture resizing apps out there along with other functionalities.

IrfanView is one of the first programs I install on any machine of mine. Use it as a quick image viewer and set Photoshop as the editor in Irfanview's preferences, can quickly browse through pictures (full screen with Enter) then hit Shift+E to open in PS.

 

Batch image processing is fantastic as well, under the File menu. Will resize a folder of images to a set size/percentage and save them elsewhere in a matter of seconds.

+1 for image resizer for windows. It's in our base image, easy right click & resize without launching any program. Does bulk stuff easily.

I would also recommend Irfanview, we use it with the RIOT plugin - allows IrfanView to save optimized JPG/GIF/PNG files (RIOT - Radical Image Optimization Tool)

 

I never thought of installing it to a shared location. Those if you that have done this, how does it play when multiple users are using the application at the same time?

I haven't noticed any issues but I haven't been looking for this issue specifically. However I would have thought I would notice this if it were an issue.
