labist Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Hello My problem is that when I start my PC it hangs on first screen before booting and goes on boot screen after 5 to 10 minutes. And if I go to bios options it works very slow to move on bios options. Please help me to resolve this issue.

I would search the lenovo website for instructions on how to do this. May be worth while starting from scratch - not checked above posts so you may or may not have already done this but 1. Remove CMOS / BIOS battery for about 5 mins or so, re connect 2. As @Oaktech suggested / mentioned update the bios ( to do this you will obviously need to create a bootable CD ( which you can download from the relevant downloads page for that model of machine off the Lenovo website , burn said disc image ( ISO ) to a cd / dvd and boot said machine off the Disc and attempt to update the BIOS 3. Also whilst on the downloads page download the Diagnostics ISO - I usually google for the Lenovo Diagnostic cd or disc etc and can generally find the relevant diagnostic disc(s) which are generally a Linux type bootable disc to diagnose the hard drive and RAM ( Memory ) If it is still an issue then you will most likely have to log a support call ( assuming said machine is still in warranty ) to get it looked at and repaired by qualified Lenovo engineer(s) There contact number is : 0870 5500 900
mac_shinobi Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Dead hd? Sata controller fried on mb? Disconnect hdd and memory and see if it beeps If it does re seat ram n try again. Then power off and try with hdd and see if you get any further. Maybe worth while ensuring all power n data connections are seated firmly etc

labist Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Here I want to pointout one thing that somehow slow movement problem in bios has gone but still having delay in POST. And strange thing is that sometimes it does not delay on POST and I can go to bios or boot quickly without any delay.

Run msconfig.exe using a diagnostic startup until you can identify the problem, it could be a program or service failing to load correctly. I know you've tried a different HDD but its worth trying as you have tried a lot of other avenues already.
