bertster Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Anyone know of the existence of a Win 7 driver for the Panasonic Touch-Screen TY-TP42P8-S? Have found the XP one and tried that in hope that it might work but unsuccessful. Thanks

toddadd Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Hi I too would very much like a driver for the Panasonic Touch-Screen TY-TP42P8-S that works with Windows 7. Please tell mw the version number and send me a link.
3s-gtech Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Have you tried using the later 2.49 drivers, installed through Device Manager? You may be able to massage the 1.4 version into working on 32 bit Windows 7, but not 64 bit. Software Download | Download | Professional Displays | Panasonic Global
toddadd Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Thanks, I installed the 2.49 version from Device Manager but am still not getting the USB-serial touchpad driver not found. I hear the wrong noise when plugging in the USB. I have tried compatibility mode for LSADRV as well and updated all the drivers for the HP PC. It used to work...
MrPstv Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I have battled with this and i lost! Contacted Panasonic and no reply which equates to no solution. Buy a new interactive plasma, Keep Windows XP, Battle on.
toddadd Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I have now go the 2 touch screens working. I used ver 1.4 on 32 bit Windows 7 PC's. The first thing to appear is the Matsushita serial bridge which gives you USB connectivity. I used device manager and update driver to use the downloaded software. After this I did the same just used all the available folders in turn until something worked. http://panasonic.net/prodisplays/download/software/download/TouchPanelDriver_v14.zip. If you have the time it does work. 1
dxjhelp Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Hey toddadd. I have just tried your method with on the same model touch panel display. The drivers do install successfully, but I am still not getting any response from the TY-TP42P8-S. What I did: Set up a test machine with windows 7 32 bit. Plugged in the usb cable, downloaded the driver and extracted to a folder generated on the root of C (lets call it C:\Folder\), opened up device manager, right clicked on the first usb unknown device and clicked update driver. I looked through the folder C:\Folder\ and let the subfolders be searched too. The driver Matsushita serial bridge installed first. Tried the touch panel, no response. Saw there was another usb device that was unknown. I right clicked on that device and clicked update drive looking through the same folder and letting the subfolders to be searched too. The device got installed properly. When testing the touch panel again, no response. This is with both pen on and pen off. Could you quite possibly provide a more in depth description on what else you might have done to get this to work? Thanks again.
