localzuk Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Lol! "The control room was also asked to send someone to retrieve a shoe stuck on a garage roof, and a woman called 999 when she feared a fox in her garden might bite her because it had "an odd look on its face"." Yeah, you gotta watch out for those foxes with odd looks on their faces.
Garacesh Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 (edited) and a woman called 999 when she feared a fox in her garden might bite her because it had "an odd look on its face". By Odin's beard! rofl! Shifty, them foxes. Shiv you at a moments notice, they will. I think partially these problems arise - especially with the old lady that threw her teeth at some dogs (albeit accidentally) - is that non-emergency numbers aren't widely published. Everybody knows 999, but I could only guess the non-emergency line for the police (Is it still 5050? I'm honestly not sure) and I don't even know if non-emergency fire or non-emergency ambulance exist (by definition, ambulances are for emergencies are they not? They're not hospital taxis.. And if your house is on fire then that's probably an emergency) Edited October 11, 2013 by Garacesh

Garacesh Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 I've never seen a single advert for 101. Ever. Not on TV, not in the paper (which I read daily on the bus to work) and not on the radio at all (though I don't often listen to the radio) So not to be 'that guy'.. But I guess you could miss it

AMLinington Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 IIRC, there are a number of owners of luxury cars to whom the parking penalties for parking outside Harrods are mere pocket change when compared to the convenience of parking outside and, additionally, the free security provided by the clamps make it considerably cheaper than risking the vehicle in a public or private car park.
