Weird Bugs

Hi all,

 

really really weird off topic post, but does anyone know what this is....

 

 

I've had a couple appear in my house recently, and have no idea what it is, or where they're coming from, all i know is there not very nice.

How so not nice? What is it that they do that makes them not nice?

 

What you tell us might help with identifying them.

Well I don't think there very nice for invading my house for starters haha!

 

But all i meant was that they don't look particularly nice.

Looks like a hairy caterpillar:

Except I would say that the chap in your house looks too small. Can you supply some indication of scale? Also how many are there? Communal behaviour could also be helpful when trying to identify the invader

ERM there probably about 5mm long by about 2mm wide. There very small, we originally thought it was just fluff until we looked closer. There's probably been about 15 in last few days. Keep appearing near a wall in our bedroom but I can't see no holes. There is an air vent with a cover though. As far as behaviour goes they seem to crawl the floors but then we catch then or hoover them up. Only today for the first time has one crawled up a wall. That I've seen anyway.

It's a Wooly Bear... the larva of Carpet Beetles. Not good news. They are pests and eat natural fibres in the house Edited September 29, 2013 by elsiegee40

I think you may be right!!! - Lovely!!!! - Thank you for your help!!! Guess i'm stripping out the bedroom and going in the loft to get the carpet cleaner out. Thank you again.

Eurgh, beetles wot eat your furniture and fabrics. Joy. Could be worse I suppose, could be woodworm...
