RM CC4 - How to show Power and Volume icons in System Tray?

How did you do this?

I've tried all three options, green tick, red cross, blank box, and get a message "a conflict has been found" every time. Anybody else have that?

Yes it rings a bell actually. Think it came up once when I tested it although I just ignored it and it still ended up working.

It comes up repeatedly for me too but seems to work.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread, but I registered just to have a say.

Currently upgrading our school OS to Win7 from XP and have come across this problem. Everything in the thread fits, from the admin accounts being able to see the volume icon while everyone else can't, to the fact I get a conflict message come up when adding the reg file, but still I have no joy. I have tried disabling 'replace the Windows Volume Control' but it makes no difference. Any help would be appreciated (and probably by ADoubleU above as well).

If there's anyone looking for the official RM Knowledge Base article for the fix (that doesn't always work) its here:

Bump! I have exactly the same issue, tried the official fix, have imported the reg file and have a conflict in RMMC and the volume control (or power icon) never appears. Any ideas?

Thanks

I had this issue at two sites. On one site the fix worked and the other it didn't. I never did get it to work at the other. Sorry for not being any help.

Had to do this today for some laptops applied the registry fixes (see attached).

VolumeIcon and HideSCAPower applied to all user policy and HideSCANetwork applied to staff policy.

The Power icon doesn't seem to appear without applying the VolumeIcon.reg. So they both need to be applied. Hopefully this will save someone some time since it took me about an hour to figure out.

HideSCAPower.txt

VolumeIcon.txt

HideSCANetwork.txt

Thanks for that, I had all the data but in one fragment. I've removed that and put in separate reg files and it works now! Thanks for your help.
