Photocopier advice

I am looking to replace a small photocopier, the Ricoh MP 161

Usually we lease photocopiers but this one we own so I am wondering if, for small devices with low usage, people's thoughts on leasing vs purchasing.

 

Also, any recommendations for a replacement?

We have a new bizhub C35 with 1 tray. Its about that size and sits on top of table.

My advice due to cost, support etc etc,

 

get an All in One Laserjet, (Colour if you want, but more costly due to more toner).

I'd get something like an HP LaserJet 4345. If you already use 4250s or 4350s, I believe there's a one-size-fits-all toner for them all too.

Big question is what is your usage on this a month/quarter?

 

Look at your cost per page before you go and purchase a machine, you might pay £100 for a small MFD but it might cost 10p a page where if you paid £250 you cost could be a lot lower i.e. £0.01, yes you may more at the beginning but overall it will be cheaper to run.

 

I would never buy a copier out right I would always lease, yes you pay more and never own it but seeing how often things change in the industry of copiers and how expensive some parts can be when they go wrong, lease and then its not your problem if it goes wrong, its the company in question.

+1 for Konica Minoltas.

We have just ditched our last machine we had under contract with Danwood (hooray) and now deal direct with KM. Really good lease and purchase options and low cost per page even with maintenance included.

I've personally found the machines more reliable than the Canon and Sharp ones we had through Danwood.
