iPad IOS7 and Apple Configurator update help ?!

Hi All,

 

Following the release of IOS7, I have been trying to update one of our test iPads, to see what the process is like etc, but I cant even get it to update the iPad!! All our iPads are supervised, and when I plug the iPad into the MacBook it automatically tries to update to IOS7. It then goes through the 'unpacking' process, and onto the installation. After a few minutes it failes with the following error message!

 

Any help or ideas please???

I had 2/6 do this to me last week, I just unplugged them, plugged them back in and it started to update successfully.

I have tried that numerous times. Restarted the iPad's, Restarted the MacBook. It even fails when I try to do it through iTunes. I get the 'Preparing device for update' at the top, and then it just goes back to the apple logo, and the iPad is no longer shown in the list on the left. Almost as if it has been disconnected?

 

In apple configurator the additional error message when you click the 'i' button is: failed to connect to booted os device

 

Any other ideas??

Silly Question... but just incase... Have you updated Apple Configurator? (and maybe iTunes) - Apple released a new version of Configurator, Version 1.4 a couple of days after iOS7 was released which supports iOS7, the previous version, 1.3.1 didn't support it.

Yes, All the updates have been done. Apple Configurator is running 1.4, and iTunes is running the latest version.

Updates won't install unless you have at least 50% battery life. Check that they are all fully charged.

 

Also try the update via iTunes on windows PC to see if the same error occurs.
