I was going to tweet this, but it's got me riled now for some unknown reason. I've just been watching a couple of reviews on YouTube and more than one of them keeps referring to USB 2 as 'USB two-point-oh'.

I mean why? It's not like there was ever a 2.1 or 2.2 revision! And it sounds rubbish.

I'm so not looking forwards to encountering 'USB three-point-oh' as a spoken word in the very near future :mad:

It is weird I agree. Although there was a USB 1 and 1.1, I never heard anyone call it 1.1.

 

You'll be happy to know there is a USB 3.1 however :) This increases speeds to 10Gbit/s from USB 3's standard 4Gbit/s.

At least they do some point releases! If we were following Firefox's numbering scheme, we'd be on USB 23 by now, if you take into account all the little updates in USB 2.
