synaesthesia Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Seems a shame. I still remember when the 0800 Weekend numbers were in vogue (and we had similar from redhotant, xstream, freeserve etc). Loved being able to connect once and their auto 2 hour disconnect thing failed to work one weekend. Stayed on for a fortnight!

Does anyone know of anyone that is still on dial-up? The net must be unusable on it now. My dad was still using dialup until about 6 months ago. Finally on broadband and has a mobile too! He changed because every page took about 5 minutes to load. So, what is BTs solution for those rural people who live in the middle of nowhere and can't get ADSL? They don't offer satellite service. Oaktech Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 I'm currently considering a Tooway system, I don't have a landline and I don't want one! My current internet is stolen from my parents via a wireless bridge and I only get about 12mb/s on speedtest across it, whereas they get 52mb/s! I also have an idea that I might set up the Tooway rig on a portable frame as I could take it with me when I do events and rent it out!
