tech_guy Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Keep safe out there - BBC News - England heatwave alerts for Friday and weekend - remember to hydrate and slap on a hat and sunscreen.
Novalee Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Oh dear - local carnival this weekend, lots of sunshine and lots of alcohol doesn't bode well.
tommej Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 "keep hydrated with plenty of cool fluids" oooh how i plan to!
tech_guy Posted July 12, 2013 Author Posted July 12, 2013 I'm spending the weekend doing DIY - in a conservatory. Where's the beer?!
Bompalompalomp Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 I've got a date. I'll look like a cherry tomato by the end of it, I'm sure they'll be impressed.

elsiegee40 Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Teenage son got bad sunburn at Goodwood on Saturday... [mum] i told him to wear his hat and use sun cream![/mum] He has finally decided that a hat, etc are a priority for his DofE Gold expedition starting Sunday... So they have magically appeared from the cupboard as I had bought stuff anyway. His practice expedition at Easter in the Brecon Beacons was in the snow with -6C at night... Slightly different conditions! He needs fewer clothes and more water this time.

This job took longer than expected so I spent most of the day outside in the glorious (but a bit brutal) sun before: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/GreenBeast999/Projects/DSC02103_zpsb6caebd3.jpg after: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/GreenBeast999/Projects/IMG_20130714_161633_zps8d8aea6c.jpg

May want to look at some extra tiles above the window. Water may be a beeeeep.
Greenbeast Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Thanks, it was my first time and apart from a little advice and an odd extra pair of hands i did it all myself The tiles been cut down to size as per instructions, to avoid the window hitting them, admittedly the window will never really be open that wide. Also the overlap over the flashing is quite substantial
