Hi guys,

 

Sorry to bring you bad news but EES prices are going up by roughly 30% 01.08.13

 

If anyone requires a NEW agreement then process it by 25th to make sure you get the cheaper pricing & go for the 3 year agreement. Any renewals haven't got much choice I'm afraid.

 

Anniversaries (annual payments against current 3 year agreements) will be unaffected until the agreement expires.

 

*Just had a chat with MS who are saying this isnt true. I'm checking it out with other people within MS so I'll come back to you very shortly

Just checked over my agreement and "Expected Evective End Date" is in 2016! Think I just dodged a bullet!

Outrageous. I remember discussing it last year and wondering whether MS would have the audacity to suck people in and then hike the costs way up further down the road - I didn't expect it to be so soon!! No effect on us until 2015, but that is a kick in the proverbails.

It will still be relatively cheap for what you get, if you want eye watering and ludicrous then get some quotes for the new Adobe annual licensing model.

What do they mean, "bringing pricing in line with the Euro?" You guys have one of the strongest currencies in the world. Funny how prices will be raised though when currencies slip, but never come back down. Cost of digitally delivered games anyone?

That was the exact same reason as last year's to bring it in-line with the Euro so I would be skeptical again.

That's always the reason. Like I said, I'm not 100% but i am 99% sure.

The Pound is pretty weak right now against the Euro and the Dollar. This is good for exports but bad for imports and Microsoft being American, it would be considered an import no doubt.

 

 

£1.00 = €1.15

£1.00 = $1.50

 

In the past it was more like €1.35+ to £1.00 and $2.00+ to £1.00.
