Why does 1 computer out of 9 behave differently :)

Hi

 

We had the problem quite a few times when we moved from xp to 7. We found a lot of it was due to either

Slightly different hardware ie model different of motherboard.

Problems with hardware ie hard drives or ram

It took us a bit to solve the problems but got rid of network problems we were living with.

The other thing we found was different setting in bios which we has to reset and sometimes flash the bios.

Things like pxe or hyperv would not talk to hardware.

Dropping off the domain, if this is it keeps on going back to only having a local login, it is usually because they do not shut down the machine properly, or it errors, then they just leave it to boot into recovery mode and then it restores to a time before system restore was disabled on the image. We had 3 members of staff who this would always "happen" to so we made sure all system restore images have been destroyed, now we don't have the issue :-)

Nope, not in this and other laptop cases. That is certainly the case on the netbooks but definitely not here (I have shut down the machine myself and the next day it has dropped off the domain again)

I have a hammer here that may help with your issue with this laptop.

 

I would resort to reinstalling the machine with a different name and see if it happens then.
