rich_tech Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Acorn Electron for me if you want to know what started it, probably best piece of technology and most useful I use is the screwdriver other than that if you have to pick electronic I would struggle I think, probably my kindle, though the iPad is creeping in there now
teejay Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 I would say my Canon EOS 450D DSLR. I'm not that great at photography but the immense satisfaction when you do get a great shot is so rewarding. It's the one piece of technology I like using in my down time to relax.
Dos_Box Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 My night vision scope. Amazing for stargazing and watching all the satellites and meteors that you can't see with the naked eye

glennda Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Mine changes daily! My current favourite toy to play with is Nimble Sans! had a CS420 X2 to play with today was very cool! I'm just lucky I am in a job where we strive to sell the cutting edge kit and therefore get lots of different stuff to play with.
pcstru Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) A transistor. 65 years after it's invention, it remains the fundamental building block of all our favourite tech. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bf/Replica-of-first-transistor.jpg All hail the mighty Transistor! unixman_again Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Intresting to see how meny of us can't live without our smartphone anymore... There are those elite few who don't feel the need for a mobile phone. Basically that would be me and Tom Stoppard.
mattx Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 (edited) Best bit of tech is when you can do this to it and then go home and enjoy life more. Anyone who can't live without their smart phone needs help. http://static8.depositphotos.com/1060916/861/i/950/depositphotos_8611764-3d-person-pressing-the-button-off.jpg Edited July 2, 2013 by mattx
Pyroman Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Does it have to be tech you own? I'd either go for an MRI scanner because they're about as close to waving a wand over people and diagnosing them as we've got so far and or a wireless access point or cell tower. Without which, none of your shiny tech would work =D oooh ooh or lithium batteries!! Sorry i'm getting carried away now!
tmcd35 Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Does it have to be tech you own? For this thread - not really. For what our head of ICT wants to do - It'll help. I'd struggle having my picture taken trying to hold up a MRI scanner
