catch21 Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I've a little Cisco router that isnt designed to be rack mounted but in the rack is the best place for it. Is there a universal mount kit anyone can recommend please? I've gone to a lot of trouble (and expense) to tidy the cabinet up and make it look a bit more professional so I don't want to leave it lying in the bottom of the cabinet or sitting on a shelf in there.
john Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 A shelf is the way forward you can get some little tiny shelves that are about 6" deep perfect for baby routers I have used one for a DSL bonder in the past.
Ric_ Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I suspect the device you are talking about is a ASA 5505. Cisco make a fine rackmount kit for it (which is totally not just a shelf). The best image I can find is New SEALED ASA5505 Rack Mnt Cisco 5505 Rack Mount Kit | eBay A very reasonable £200 if you ask me (It holds two devices too!!!)

john Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Modem Shelves Is what I was thinking of and you can cable tie the cables to it so it cannot be knocked off or anything
plexer Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I use kit from Server Racks | Rack Shelves | Rackmount Monitors | RackSolutions UK for when this type of issue comes up. Ben 1
southhamster Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 My cheapskate tip.find an old hub or switch with rack mount. Gut it.take off the lid...and there's your shelf.
