fiza Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 Anyone using GCSE POD? If so is it any good? Download GCSE learning & revision audio | Education Anywhere - GCSEPod.co.uk
TechieWils Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 We have it here for the year 11 revision, from what I see they enjoy it and the staff say it's definitely helped them.
Sylv3r Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 We looked at it but didn't purchase. We got mixed feedback from staff and students when we trialled it. Some of our 'high flying' students would probably use it but the lower end student probably wouldn't bother. Teachers said the quality of content varied from subject to subject.
plexer Posted June 14, 2013 Posted June 14, 2013 We're running it but no idea how they're getting on with it. Ben
markwilfan Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Same as @plexer Seems really good but as with anything you need the staff to sell it. We have it "advertised" on the vle homepage
Steve21 Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Seems well liked in our school. We've had it since last March and here are the amount of videos watched so far: Total Podcasts Requested: 9,172 Total Duration of Requests: 1004hrs 03mins Steve
unexus Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Hi, Hoping to resurrect this thread.. Is anyone using anything similar to GCSE Pod? If so, what do use and how successful has it been? I'm told that there are free alternatives that are just a good.
simpsonj Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 We might be on the lookout for a replacement to GCSEpod ourselves, anyone find anything?
lmrogers Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Hi, we are looking for an alternative to GCSEPod as well if anyone knows of anything?
zag Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Seems well liked in our school. We've had it since last March and here are the amount of videos watched so far: Total Podcasts Requested: 9,172 Total Duration of Requests: 1004hrs 03mins Steve How do you find those statistics?
Steve21 Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 How do you find those statistics? I don't have access to that anymore as it's old place of work, but there's the back login that administrators have that gives you all the statistics and reports per user/subject/school etc. Show's lots of nice info like that Steve
Powerman Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 There's also Play online, learn online and feed the hungry | Freerice.com which has revesion/tests on and everytime a student answers correctly a donation of 10 grains of rice is made via the United Nations World Food Programme. You can create logins so (for example) each class uses a different login and at the end of each month you can see how much rice each class has donated. This is Free by the way and doesn't cost the school anything. 1
