wasnt sure were to put this I am about to do a survey looking at jobs in ict support in education.

 

wil have ussal stuff such as wage, location, budget, job title etc

 

But what else would you like to see in survey open to any suggestions...

Number of servers + workstations

For Network Managers: Number of assistants/technicians.

Number of hours worked, amount of leave entitled to, number of sites managed...

The survey should encompass what the role of the ICT Manager/Technician includes.

 

In other words the job descriptions may differ but the title could be the same. So you may see an inbalnce in salaries but this could be explained by extra responsibilties.

 

Perhaps a baseline job description could be posted for ICT manager/ICT technician/Network manager etc???

Number of users supported next to number of machines - I think is important.

Couple of typos but otherwise good - although good point about number of users and you did miss out number of sites and possibly travelling distance between sites.

 

Will you be knocking up an online version to be filled in?

Country: In Scotland and Wales we have totally different funding arrangements

 

Hours worked: per week

 

Budget: I don't know the full extent, The Head Teacher keeps control of the whole budget and allocates as she sees fit, and depending on other spending in that financial year. Some ICT items are purchased centrally/ top sliced so we don't know the full cost - such as broadband provision, webspace, email support, filtering. Dunno how you could change the question to fit all.

Do you have any schemes for students to use laptops in school?

How many are school laptops in mobile classrooms?

How many are school laptops that students can take home?

ok would like to point something out just so that people know this survey not in any influnced by any commercial company all peoples results are secret we will release a report at end with percentages etc this is what we cn tell from results etc

 

Which will made for free on the website the intial list that i put up these questions all came from my head and nobody elses then extra ones it was community plus grumbledook suggested couple in private email to each other etc
