Hi,

I am using LDAP here with no issues, I want to use LDAPS instead now. I have got all this working. I have an internal CA and i can connect to LDAP using LDAPS from my VLE server to my domain controllers using Apache Directory Studio. So we know that Active directory is setup fine and ports are open.

In Moodle I have put this into the LDAP Host URL ldaps:/// - When i try to login to Moodle using an LDAP account I get the following error. LDAP-module cannot connect to any servers: Server: 'ldaps:///', Connection: 'Resource id #62', Bind result:. When I reverted back to LDAP from LDAPS all works again.

I am not sure where to go from here, although i do have a feeling its do with Moodle or PHP or something not trusting my CA.

This is my Setup

Domain Controllers - Windows Server 2012

VLE Server - Windows Server 2012, PHP 5.4, Moodle 2.4.4. (This server is not joined to the domain)

I did install the Root Certificate from my CA into the trusted root certificates on my VLE Server, this didn't help.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

try appending the port onto it... ldaps://:636 (or whatever it should be, can't recall offhand)

LDAPS should compile into PHP when you compiled it for LDAP. S'just part of OpenLDAP I thought...?

Will keep an eye on this - we want to use LDAPS with Moodle soon. Currently not even using LDAP as it's on the LEA's webservers and they haven't opened the ports, but working on it.
