We're trialing at the moment. The part we're most interested in is the ability to redirect to MFPs and to suggest/force duplex etc.

I doubt we'll ever be able to actually charge for printing.

Used it for years, recently upgraded to 13. Ace piece of software, and good value. Can be a bit of a load on a weedy server, 4GB+ of RAM and a couple of cores and it'll do fine.

Its brilliant and the more advanced version (papercut MF) you can actually intergrate into photocopiers so the photocopies are also included in it

We have been using Papercut MF for a while now. It has been a great system. My only complaint is the mobile printing side. Their web print only supports Office Docs and PDFs. So if you want to print an image through the webpage you are out of luck. They also have an iOS app for printing, but no android app for printing atm. This is a major problem for us as students have been buying the cheaper nexus 7 as opposed to an iPad. You can, however, release print jobs from an android app. The iOS app also uses airprint, which just will not work on an enterprise network.

Fortunately, there are other systems which work with papercut to manage mobile printing. If mobile printing will be an issue you may want to check into the cost of those systems as well vs buying a system that has mobile support such as emailing print jobs.

Sorry to hi-jack this thread but just wondering how you manage the cash and credits of PaperCut especially who has responsibility of cash and doing the credit updates

TIA

If we were to do it, and we don't, then I guess the easiest way is to sell top up cards from somewhere such as the library. Pupils can then redeem these against their account on PaperCut.

Papercut is great but its fallen behind the times in recent years.

Their mobile tablet printing is virtually non existent from what I could tell last time I looked into upgrading.

These days all you really need is a web upload and email to print functions.

We have been using it for years - since 2008 infact. We only use it for reporting, yes its a bit over kill but there are some good features in the full version which i use instead of using the free version, plus there is the option for us to use the print credits when we want.

How do you mean? You can print from Mobile Devices using PaperCut? Okay, it does require extra setup but it's possible.
