Now that I like. It's bold. It's simple.

I have to say I prefer the ones with the angelic touches...

 

I would love a sticker "powered by Edugeek.net" That would be fantastic

or something along those lines.

 

It's gonna turn into another slogan comp isn't it aswell :S

arr but do you know why it is symbol for Christianity well let me tell you it is back from days when Christianity was outlawed. So it was a code so that fellow Christians would know each other.

 

One person would draw one half and other person would complete the symbol.

I think there's a bit more to it than that. Icthus is the greek word for fish - the letters inside the icon shown show that - and the first two letters (IC) are also the first two letters of Jesus Christ (allowing for I/J being the same letter)

 

This is so much more fun than trying to install crap Skills for Life software :-)

Well word icthus comes what you say which is word fish in Greek. But original symbol for it was believed to be this:-

Fish was used a replacement later on either as place to mark either secret meeting place or as secret handshake..

I don't know ... go away to Nice for a few days (back early ... had some ice cubes made from dodgy water and neither my wife or I have been that good since).

 

I like the logos for t-shirts and impact. I still really like the present logo but agree that the colours need a rework to make them work for t-shirts, mugs, letterheads, business cards.

 

I was one of the few that bought the original t-shirts and I still wear them out and about. Then again I also have a complete set of the "O'Really / BoFHcam" t-shirts, some interesting Simpsons t-shirts ... and not forgetting the Fabulous Furry Freak brothers ... it took me ages to get those ones back from my brother.

 

I don't have a problem with stylising parts of the logo to make an iconic symbol (EG or the two Es with horns) and then have further logos for other uses. That can be used for tiepins, cuff-links and so on.

 

But then we get to how we want to market EduGeek. Yes, we have to market it to several industries. We have to market it to members working in school, we have to market it to management in schools so that the advice being shared by members is valued, we have to market it to Local Authorities and Govt agencies to gain their support (and access to resources) and then we have to market it to business that can provide extra resources, advice, training, discounts and support to members (and yes ... that includes sponsorship and advertising).

 

That is a wide audience to cater for. When you consider that some companies or organisations with our site hit rate would be paying marketing and design companies to sort all this out we are bound to have to look at different methods of targetting groups.

 

On a personal note I like red, yellow and black on t-shirts but do not find it attractive on a light coloured web page. But it would fit in very well with a dark (actually a black) based theme to the site.

 

The tag line? I think that you keep it as short as possible and the present one describes what the site does in pretty much the fewest number of words.

Hehe, a lot I'd imagine!! Redd Pepper would be good though.. if he's good enough for film trailers! Unless any of our resident Edugeekers have exceptionally low voice-over-grade voices?

I'm sure there's some freeware stuff out there, but you were right, there is some software that can do it.
