Hi All,

 

We need to buy some new asset tags. The super duper foil tamperproof type are a pound each, and that seems excessive.

 

Is there something still reasonably strong e.g. plasticised and sticky enough, but cheaper?

Ta. Looks like it might well have to be Seton after all. We need to use asset numbers, so have to print them at least (vs. stencilling). It seems from Avery label reviews that the print rubs off, even though they're a lot cheaper.

We use the triplebond avery ones and haven't had a number rubbed off?

 

They are a plastic substrate label and if you laser print it I can't see how it would.

Have you thought about buying a proper label printer which uses a wax/resin thermal transfer process that is very durable? We use the WaspBarcode Printer and it has lasted very well for us. You can also purchase ultradestructible labels for it so if kids try picking them off they break up in to tiny pieces so there is more chance of them giving up before they have removed the part of the label with the important details.

Last time I placed an order for them was in April 2008 so prices may be different now, at that time I purchased 5 x 50mm x 25mm Blank White Labels (1000 labels / roll - Destructible Vinyl, Permanent Adhesive, Thermal Transfer) @ £38.50 / roll from Woden Labels
