Might be worth dropping a post in the Blue Room forum as this is more up their alley.

DMX Lighting: Fixed Setup Suggestions
TLARWise replied to dhicks's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
@synaesthesia is correct regarding the programming of the unit (once the scene is configured on the main controller you hold the button down on the unit to record to that preset), although I don't think I have ever changed the DIPs back to protected mode after setting the scenes (makes it easier if you want to make changes in the future but there is a risk of them getting overridden if someone messes with the panel while you have the main DMX controller connected at the same time). A basic search online is listing the 4 preset version at the same price as the 23 preset version for some reason: Anyscene DMX Scene Recall Units Anytronic Lighting Another cheaper option might be the Showtec TR-512 Playback Recorder and Wall Panel Remote but I have no experience of this setup at all: Power DMX Trigger Playback Recorder - SHOWTEC | CPC UK Wall Panel Remote for TR-512 Install / Pocket, Black - SHOWTEC | CPC UK -

For a basic DMX interface have you had a look at the Anytronics AnyScene system (Anytronics | Anyscene DMX Recall Units) -
Overhead Camera for Demos - What you using?

Add it to the pricey but does the job well pile, we have a few CL511 4K Ceiling Camera | Lumens in our food and science labs. -
I have just checked with our supplier (who has access to the Paxton portal for our system) and they are saying that no they are not being detected. This would indicate the issue is with communicating with the server which is done through normal HTTPS traffic, however the Paxton URLs have been added to our filtering system so they should not be blocked. We do use HTTPS Decryption on our network however the IP addresses have been added to the exclusion list and the default policy (which these panels should be using) is also not set to use it.

Yes, app setting is enabled and all Entry Panels have an IPV4 address (reserved DHCP). The Entry Configuration Utility has also been upgraded to v4 SR2.

Just to update this for anyone who has the same issue in the future. It turns out that the company who setup our Intune policies configured this value using a PowerShell script, however they accidentally created the 'NoDrives' registry entry as a string value instead of a binary dword value.
-
Is anyone using the Paxton Entry App (the paid subscription to allow communication with Paxton Entry panels not the Paxton Connect App used to just manually open doors) on an LGFL connection? We have added the firewall rules listed on the Paxton Entry setup PDF (APN-1204.pdf) but we are still not getting any communication between the Mobile App and the Entry Panels. Did you have to make any other changes to get this working?

Tenant to Tenant migration clearing settings from mobile apps

We started using a new Intune based system this term, however we are having an issue where drives E and F are hidden when USB drives are connected to the client devices. If you look in Disk Management the drives are allocated to the drive letters and I am able to access them by typing in the drive letter in the address bar of File Explorer. I have checked the NoDrives option in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer, same for LOCAL_MACHINE) and there is an entry but this is listed as 4 which should only hide the C drive, which is expected. Is anyone aware of any other settings/third party apps that have the ability to hide drives? We do use IAMS Cloud Drive Mapper to map OneDrive/Sharepoint folders but no entries are configured to use drives E and F, is there another setting in this app that could result in hidden drives that we may have missed?

I have been using this crimper (https://cpc.farnell.com/duratool/d03024/crimp-tool-rj45/dp/TL07304?st=tl07304) for over 10 years and I have pretty small hands and find it easy to use. It won't automatically cut pass through plugs but the crimp port is open so they could be cut with flush cutters after it has been crimped.

Papercut Card Reader Scripts for TWN3 Multi 125
TLARWise replied to k-strider's topic in How do you do....it?
Did you ever manage to get hold of a copy of the PaperCut MF - General Elatec TWN Reader Tasks.zip, if so any chance you can send me a copy? We have an old Elatec reader we would like to reprogram to match the same output as all our other printer readers and am hoping one of the scripts the pdf mentions will work for us? Thanks -
[sims] Printing Timetables Issue on SIMS - No Classes
TLARWise replied to arthurfarr's topic in MIS Systems
You can use academic promotion to automatically allocate pupils to classes if they are the same as last year. -
[sims] Pupils Timetables are not visible in SIMS before the Academic year begins
TLARWise replied to Tara_1's topic in MIS Systems
You should be able to see pupil timetables now by changing the effective date. Just to check, have the pupils been allocated to groups yet in the Focus>School>Academic Structure>Curriculum Assignment by Scheme/Student section? Also have you changed the Academic Year to next year yet (Tools>Academic Management>Set Academic Year).- 1 reply

I am not familiar with the functionality of Intune and what it will allow you to do, but you can disable flight mode by disabling the Radio Management Service.

Is anyone using Mosyle to manage old ipads (IOS 9.3.5)? I have been using their free version to manage a number of old ipads which has been working fine for ages, however I have come to restore a batch of old IPad Mini 2's this morning and whenever I restore them and go through the setup process and enter the wifi details it gets to the point where it says will automatically configure your iPad and I click Next but it comes up with the error: The configuration for your iPad could not be downloaded from . The operation couldn't be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain Error - 1012.) Has anyone come across this issue before? Is it related to Mosyle specifically or could it be Apple related? Is it likely to be a temporary issue or could Mosyle/Apple have changed things so old iPads are now completely blocked from being added to an MDM? Unfortunately I can't contact Mosyle support as only having a free account I don't have access to their ticketing system. I was able to restore/setup a slightly newer iPad (IOS 12.5.7) with no issues.

We got ours linked to a couple of desktop computers by joining it to WiFi and changing it over to LAN only mode. It won't pickup firmware updates using this process (we connected it to a mobile hotspot to do this) but it works to allow the software on the desktop computer to talk to the printer directly.

For overclocking just ending in K would do (the F indicates no integrated graphics). You would also need a Z series motherboard.

On our system we just have an admin level account setup on the NVR's themselves, which is used to connect and configure the devices in SmartPSS (using the standard admin account), then I create a Role and User that is restricted to Playback and Live View only in the User section of SmartPSS. I then log on to the restricted user so next time the SmartPSS program is started it defaults to that user, then I just make a copy of the 'C:\Users\Public\SmartPSS' folder on a shared drive and then whenever the software is installed on another computer you just need to copy that folder over the top of the 'C:\Users\Public\SmartPSS' folder so when the program is next ran on the new computer all the device adding and user settings are already to go.

Has anyone ever had any issues using compatible ink cartridges? We have a Pitney Bowes DM110i (PR20) franking machine which has been happily using compatible cartridges (CartridgeSave own brand) for over a year now but has recently come up with an ink out error. We have tried using a brand new compatible cartridge but as soon as it is installed it keeps going back to the ink out error. Has anyone ever had a similar experience and was able to get it back up and running again? I really don't want to have to spend £160 per cartridge for a branded cartridge when compatible ones are available for under £20.

You could try posting on https://www.blue-room.org.uk as you may have better luck there.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, it was indeed Spanning Tree causing the issue, once I disabled this setting on the 1920's they started working fine.

I have a couple of HP 1920-24G (JG924A) switches that we previously used in a small off site complex that i want to reuse as basic dumb switches so I ran the initialize process on them to factory reset the config. This completed fine however when I connect the switch to a network port on the main network and then connect a device to the switch the device is only getting a 169.254.*.* IP address, the management IP of the switch is also showing a 169 address as well (this is set to configure by DHCP in the settings). I can access the web management of the switch from the attached device so the switch appears to be working, does anything need to be specifically configured on the switch before it will allow basic switching to work?
