Which bank does your school use?

Is that free banking ('cos you're a school - Lloyds, for example) or are you paying for it?

If you're paying, roughly how much do the charges come to? (include pupil numbers as a very rough gauge if you wouldn't mind).

What's their banking website and/or software like? What's the helldesk like?

Is your finance dept happy with the bank (in general)? How responsive are they to requests?

How many bulk transactions per month are you allowed before you incurr extra costs?

cheers

We're an independent school with NatWest. The Internet banking works with Sage OK. I can't answer your specific questions until Monday. PM me if I forget.

My governor school, an academy, is with Lloyds... I'm not aware of special treatment for either

We are an academy using Sage and Lloyds. Finance girls seem to think everything works well and Lloyds are pretty helpful and quick to turn things around when requested.

We use Natwest and they are terrible. There is no communication between the corporate department and the branch, meaning we are constantly caught between different advice/procedures. Some money went missing a while ago, they aren't being very helpful and we are still in dispute about it.

I have no idea why we still use them.

Ok the answers are probably not that useful. We ar generally happy with NatWest, the software and support, etc works fine. Our manager isn't that great, but it's nothing we can't deal with.

The charges side isn't that helpful, we have a very old account type that is no longer offered and have very few charges, e.g. bounced cheques don't cost! They keep trying to make us 'upgrade' and we keep resisting as it would work out very expensive for us to do so.
