Apple TV's - can you set a passcode?

I want to know if we roll out AppleTV's to multiple classrooms, what is to stop little Johnny bringing in his own AppleTV remote from home and messing about with our devices when there are no teachers around?

 

How do others stop this?

You can pair specific Apple remotes to AppleTVs. Just make sure that your teachers don't lose them, that's all.

To unpair your Apple TV from a remote

 

You can use any Apple Remote to unpair Apple TV from a remote. Note: If you lose the Apple Remote that you paired with Apple TV, a replacement remote will not work until you unpair Apple TV from the lost remote.

 

Press and hold the Menu and Previous/Rewind buttons on a white Apple Remote for 6 seconds, or the Menu and Left buttons on an aluminum Apple Remote for 6 seconds.

Just tested.....any remote can unpair the paried one so sadly that is not a solution

If you roll out AirServer, you can easily password each PC that's broadcasting.

Apple TV's can be configured using the Apple mobileconfig files that also configure iOS Devices. Create a simple profile with a passcode using iPhone Configuration Utility (Avaliable for Windows) and plug your Apple TV into the PC using USB, then on the Apple TV you can install the profile from the Utility program. Then you have a passcoded Apple TV.

Maybe this is one of those problems that just doesn't have a technical answer. This has to be a class discipline problem, if you catch a student messing about with a personal remote the teacher will have to punish them.

Won't the passcode be required at turn on or wake from sleep before anything can be accessed???

Assuming that you're wanting to use the Apple-TV for Airplay mirroring... can you not just provide no line of sight to the IR receiver on the Apple TV and just use the remote app to control them via an iPad (thus over wifi?)

@kennysarmy Your original question asked about mirroring passwords, i'm not sure if they can be set via Restrictions.
