What sort of range is people getting out of there trucks.

On a full tank with a trailer, I will get around 3300Km. On a full tank with no trailer, I'll get maybe 7000Km.

My range counter claims 2000+ miles but I haven't been checking it. I am changing my gear change tactics though from thrash the hell out of it to a smooth change at ~15k RPM and the truck has been going faster!

 

I also flipped it for the first time last night and ran a red at a bugged level crossing...

last night i ran out of fuel whist driving in Germany.. Costed it in to a petrol station.. fulled and it didnt take its 800L. Only took 750L

i finished my disastrous run with 46% damage to the cargo and 24% damage to me. lost 4k on payment for the cargo damage and 11k cost to repair the truck. still came out of it 24k better off!

I did a long run yesterday from Paris to Poznan, lordy that was awful. Bought in 60k, but 2 rest stops, a refuelling and it was an urgent delivery as well!

i've just started a 1400 mile journey, i think its aberdeen to the south of france/north of italy....can't remember exactly where, i just saw it was 68k. thankfully part of it is a ferry journey, but depending on the roads i might be able to make it a one rest stop if i can blitz down the motorway.

in the grand scheme at the moment, they're not that bad. the one i was on yesterday took about 400quid off me. once i finish paying off debts and actually want to earn, i'll no doubt change my tune.

i was close to taking out another loan just to repair my cab last night, but thankfully i covered it, now i want to get my payments done, so i can start to roll about in the money!

I think by the time you hit the big cash (£60k plus a job) the tolls change their prices. I have noticed on a heavy/oversized that are fragile/valuable the toll goes up exponentially.

nah, my worst delivery was being late from a forced break! lol but I make a point to be off the PC by 10:30 every night (except friday where its 11, and saturday where its whenever I am tired).

Yeah I need to start having some cut off times I think..fyi for everyone you can avoid the red light fine by mounting the pavement..risky but works.

En-route from Birmingham to Cardiff to drop off Car Parts, a car overtakes me (two-way traffic road) but doesn't quite get the right judgement as he sees another lorry coming towards him. Before I have a chance to brake safely the car immediately cuts me off in front meaning I have to swerve onto the grass verge and into a ditch.

 

This was then when I experienced probably the most hilarious moment ever in this game so far. My lorry was stuck, I couldn't move it. I decided on tactics and unhooked my trailer, and held down the throttle as I could see my truck slowly moving. Just as I was about to give up, my truck LAUNCHES forward and I even get a bit of air as it goes back out of the ditch, smashes through a sign and lands on the road. 2% damage, got my trailer back, was able to complete the job, walked away feeling boss time for some more jobs, I'm avoiding a loan for now as I want to earn the cash first. Buy myself a truck and get the garage sorted.

 

How have you guys gone about starting up? Any tips? I'd obviously like to employ some people eventually..

Try not to get a loan. Do quick jobs to get money up for truck.

Yeah that's all I've been doing for now. Just sucks they're only 3k a pop I may invest in a cheapo truck just to tide me in for now so I can get onto the freight market

Make sure you sort your jobs by price...

 

Get a volvo truck. Much better and more power than scana truck at base model.

Have done, unfortunately it's all only around the £3k mark (I have only just started mind, Level 2 here haha..) - yeah I was reading up on that, Volvo seems the best and with the upgrades they go up to 750bhp or something mad!

Im at 700bhp.... great truck. Start leveling up and your start laughing then.
