Disabling the Desktop Context Menu Only

This is probably a really stupid question but does anyone know how you disable the Context Menu for the desktop ONLY and not explorer as well. As I can do that really easy in GPO for right click for everything but I just want to disable it on the desktop?

I don't think you can as it's just that the right click context menu which changes it's options depending on where you are in the gui.

You're correct RobFuller; this can be achieved by modifying the Registry. Follow the link to disable the ability to right-click on the desktop.
