richbrowncardiff Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Hi Everyone hopefully someone has a quick answer to this... anyone know of a how to reduce (or prevent) w7 / server 2008R2 roaming profile corruption ? Roaming profiles all working beautifully but we seem to have 4-5 a day which need "refreshing" aka deleting to resolve iffy backgrounds, missing shortcuts and other random niggles. really strange but i have exhausted everything i can think of. its not a show stopper and no-one is complaining but its annoying me! many thanks as always !
eddyc Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 We have had this ever since moving to Windows 7. We have delprof2.exe run as a machine startup script which seems to resolve the issue for us.

zag Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Why does anyone use roaming profiles these days? Its totally pointless. Just remove their profile and let it create a new one on each login. Its far quicker and never had a profile problem since.

Most of our roaming profiles are 15-30Mb and we don't see corruption very often anymore and when we do it is usually caused by powering down a machine that was syncing the profile back to the server. 1
richbrowncardiff Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 Thanks all for your input. Roaming profiles make sense for us as many use outlook and their logins are as quick as 15 seconds so i am happy to keep them. I will take a look at some patches and see how it goes. Many thanks
