Adobe Acrobat Reader Issue

I've installed Acobat Reader on our std windows 7 64bit build.

 

When users attempt to open a PDF say linked from an application it pops up a message saying "Before proceeding you must first launch Adobe Acrobat and accept the End User Licence Agreement"

 

Adobe Acrobat is nt even installed on the PC.

 

Even if the user opens up Adobe Acrobat reader and does accept the licence - the problem remains...

 

Any ideas?

I don't know which version you're using, but there used to be a bug when there's a capital C and R in filename it'll always show EULA.

 

There's a regkey you can put in to tell it you've already accepted it, so I'm guessing they may not have write access to that bit.

Do you mean Adobe Reader? Acrobat Reader is really old.

This sounds like a problem we had a while back. I had to add read permissions for the user groups [staff/Students etc] to the MSI. After that the problem went away.

To disable the EULA in Adobe Reader 11 use this reg key:

 

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\AdobeViewer]
"EULA"=dword:00000001

Anyone happen to know how to disable to Improvement Program through a reg key?

I am using the Registry Wizard in Group Policy Management Editor I can edit the EULA key with myself logged on and have chosen the option to modify the key.

 

What would be the expected behaviour if the key did not exist, say with a PC with an older version of Acrobat Reader installed?

 

Also, I had to create the key first on my PC but did find that when manually changing from 0 to 1 it toggled between showing the EULA screen and not.

 

But if I have PC's with the correct version of Reader on them but they don't have the EULA part in the registry do I need the create option instead of modify or does modify also do create if the key does not exist.

Modify will create the key if it doesn't exist. The difference is that Create will not change an existing value.
