Feb 2013 Webscreen 2 Changes

LGFL have made some changes to Webscreen 2, this means certain websites that you could get to have been blocked also they have changed the URL keyword guidelines so that words cant be blocked of less than 7 characters and cant end in a .

So what you are saying is:

1) Some sites are now blocked that weren't previously? That's BAU when it comes to third party filtering, unless I'm missing something?

2) You can no longer filter on keywords of less than seven characters

3) You can no longer filter on keywords that end in the letter 'a'

 

What justification were you given for the last two? They do seem a bit odd.

3 - no a full stop (.)

 

They have made changes, no explanation was given but they are going to review. I have "ebay" blocked at the moment. Under these new rules, this would not be allowed.

I believe there are changes a foot in this area to tighten up the LGfL filtering system - ironically as a result I was told of other posts on this site

They appear to have produced a restriction on 'allowing' keywords but left the block alone so your ebay will be fine.

 

The help desk guy said there was more coming including methods that give VERY granular control over https

 

They also told me about google dns and safe search .....
