Stag do!

I'm wondering if you anyone can help me out,

 

I'm best man for my friend in August and we're going to York for a good old drinking session in July and I have only been on one stag do before, so I lack experience in this field, so I need ideas for the stag in question?

 

I've priced up midgets being handcuffed to him and everything but we're trying to keep it as cheap as possible,

we are semi-professional paintballers, so paintballing is out of the question as it won't be anything unique and I want this day to be something I talk about in the speech

 

any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well an upgrade for some (depending on the persons taste) is Airsoft as oppose to paint balling? Good luck btw had to organise something last year for my mates stag do I did indoor skiing with real snow.

Can't be turning our back on paintballing with airsoft haha

I would love to do something like indoor skiing/boarding, always wanted to do it, but think everyone is gunning for the opposite of what your stag wants, they want alot of alcohol, strippers, etc...

Yeah no problem mate reason I still linked it was there are suggestions that you might like as oppose to what I did, there was quite a few responses with varied things.

Can't beat a bit of competition, so Karting is always a fav for me (it's usually pretty cheap too!)

Plus then you can force him into L Plates!

 

It's York so going for a booze cruise down the river is always a good choice. Plus there's always a trip to the racecourse if there's anything happening there.

We've done, clay pigeon shooting, go-karting, a weekend in Blackpool, and a Saturday night on Broad Street Birmingham.

Went on one a week or two ago, went on a boat cruse around the harbor, bikini girls serving drinks and a stripper than as we were in town a pub crawl and stripclub. Was suprisingly cheap but it does rely on being closish to water, and strippers. Reasonably tame too, there were only three broken bones

Looks like we're going to go for the Dune Buggy racing (£45 - 3 hours) then hitting a couple of the clubs (Flares, the living room late bar and Kuda - £10) Premier inn for £25 each, then Sunday, I'll be up nice and early for drinking all day again but doubt some of them will be haha

Get the train to Scarborough on Sunday, it's 45 minutes and has any number of excellent pubs to do the drinking, not to mention drunken antics on the seafront all followed by a six am finish in the casino

sounds like an awesome plan and personally, if I had it my way I do do this, but there's people that are going that are on very strict budgets and time scales, so I can't be as extravagant as I would like.

 

I wanted to go to Prague for a couple of days but hey ho

haha! budgets are meant to be broken. But i know what you mean. My brother in law to be has plans for an awesome stag weekend but looking at costs i think it'll be a different group of people on each day since its all so expensive!

I'm a true believer of home and away stag do's, maybe even kick in a neutral ground depending on how much interest I have, but the person that has the budget is the groom himself, so maybe a bit pointless in a stag do with no stag haha

you know I never thought of that actually, forgot about that rule

only thing I've said about the bride is she's too good for the groom and she looks beautiful basically and the groom doesn't have any ex's so that one's easy

Jelly wrestling was a laugh, we did it one my mates stag in Bournemouth think it was through GoBananas.

You could always see if there is a Rocky Horror production going on and make him dress up for that - my sister recently attended one and it was.... extreme. lol.

For a friends we camped two night and rode the Dragons Back Trail and then had a nice meal at a quite pub. For Sunday it was a little chief breakfast and the beach on Sunday.

Last one I went on the groom wanted to do an assault course, so that's what was arranged. A long slug through waist deep water and mud, slithering under barbed wire and climbing walls. Absolutely brutal and it was the start of Feb so was freezing. Only just about staved off the hypothermia to go out drinking in the evening

When I got married, my best man who is a natural comedian said he came so close to doing something quality during the speech but decided the day before not to. He told me all about it a few weeks later. To do this, you need to have willing guests, and the grooms mother-in-law to be needs to have a good sense of humour! Here's what he planned on doing:

 

1. Get hold of a load of keys

2. Give a key to any of the male guests you can

3. Give one key to the brides mother

4. During the best man speech, comment on how lovely the bride is, also state that she is now off the market and previous 'love interests' should return the keys to her house

5. All the male guests come to the front and hand in the keys

6. Comment on how the same goes for the groom and that previous 'love interests' hand back keys to his house

7. Queue the only woman - the mother-in-law to be - standing up to hand in her key.

 

It could also work well with an 'older' guest who's up for a laugh.
