Where's best for buying shoes in very large sizes?

My youngest is 15, 6'2" and wears size 12 shoes. His feet are very narrow too which doesn't help, however I did manage to get something approximating a school shoe from M&S without bankrupting us (£45). I'm assuming that he still has a lot of growing to do.

 

There must be several of you who either have large feet or have sons with large feet... where do you find best to buy shoes?

 

I've already spoken to the school who are adamant that trainers cannot be worn... the few pairs of very large shoes I've found seem to be a minimum of £70 a pair and entirely unsuitable for playing football in the playground

Ooh just been on Brantano Footwear - Shoes For All The Family and they do up to size 14 which should see him through the next year or so...! If I cross my fingers it might see him through school... well, maybe not.

 

It's a shame our nearest store is 20 miles away. It would be better if he could try them on.

Brantano does up to 12 in just about everything and every now and then I find some size 14 shoes there which just about fit. However my typical haunt for large size shoes is Big Shoes UK & Clothing Large Sizes - decent prices and a reasonable selection.

As someone who had same issue trust me, gets worse!

 

Currently UK 16 (17 USA) in shoes and trainers. As mentioned above brantano great for around your kids size. Pod footwear is a good brand they go up to 17 in some designs.

 

In terms of trainers generally find it easier and cheaper to buy from USA or Germany. Especially when they got offers

 

But yeah, it's a pain!!!

Might be worth a trip just to try on the various makes in his size and then you should be able to order them online in the future?

For those of you on the southcoast with large feet... may i recomend Large Menswear, Big and Tall Menswear, Kingsize Menswear - Osbornes Big and Tall Menswear in beer or plymouth. my bro in law has size 14 feet and is 6'4, it's a nice drive down of a saturday from poole!

I have size 14 feet and get mine from Brantano, quite reasonable prices for the size to! Though not all stores stock over size 12. My last pair of nice/posh shoes I got from High and Mighty, not cheap......!
