Hi all,

I'll keep it simple,

Do you need to install the StoryPhones software in order to get the actual headphones to work?

I know the company closed down a long time ago so the software is almost impossible to track down.

Cheers,

Trav

We have the batteries start to die as well. Is anyone able to source a replacement? I looked but without success. CPD did some that were a close fit but slightly too big..

Hi,

I own the Storyphone product and software and have done since around 2013 when the original owners went bust leaving me almost £500k down. The product only ever had 12 month manufacturers warranty. If I can help in anyway I will.

Has anyone had any luck sourcing a suitable replacement battery for the headsets?

I bought some StoryPhones a while ago, but only some of the headset batteries will charge from flat, some are completely dead.

Had two schools desperate to keep using them, tried a number of different batteries from ebay and the like with no luck. Think unfortunately it's time to let them go...

If you want to pm me your email address I can send you the copy I have on our network. Haven't installed it in years, but assume it will work.

Ah, i think you're on to a loser with this one, they're so old, take my advice and don't waste any more time on them and put them in the bin (ewaste disposal pile)

I sent him a link to the software.

At one point a school asked me to find some replacement batteries for them, I tried and failed and then we binned them. They cost a fortune as well.

Hi - would you be as kind to read my thread regard Storyphones and possibly offer any help?

Hi all.

I own a small computer store in the UK and have been asked if I can help a special needs school with some Storyphones they have been given.

Firstly, I have not come across them before so a few questions:

1/ What power adapters do I need to use?

2/ Are there any links to manuals for them?

3/ How the heck do you use them?

Any and all replies would be welcome along with tips and hints.

Thanks in advance.

1 - They have a base station which they dock into which charges them. Not sure off hand what adaptor this uses, may be able to find an old one in the loft to check.

2 - No idea, don't think so! May be one when you install the software.

3 - They are essentially mp3 players build into headphones that use their own software to download stories to them.
