Did you try the external monitor yet? I suppose it could be the inverter, do you have a spare one? Have you tried it running from battery?

Is the power plugged in? Could be the monitor setting for battery mode. I'd still try reseating the monitor connections, and if you can get to the backlight module i'd reseat that too.

I doubt its a resolution issue as booting from CD doesn't work. Try external monitor, if that works remove and reseat laptop screen connections, if the external doesn't work your mobo is probably fubar

What happens when you boot to a CD? Try puppy linux and see if the screen still goes off.

He meant that it beeps @ the welcome screen, when he clicks on the user to logon.

Hi, not sure if this is even possible but figured if anyone knows it'll be you guys! I'm wondering if there is any way to track changes made to active directory, such as password changes, account creation/deletion etc. Cheers, Dom

Student accounts is usually 2 years for us as we have a 6th form, the data has to stay for 3 years i think? Staff, depends on if they are supply or full time, supply we keep in a seperate container as they could come back, normal staff we usually leave for a month or clean up over 6 week hols.

I assumed thats what you meant, i had the same problem where someone had stored the wrong password, it just beeped and hung, which model laptop is it? Dom

Have you changed your password recently? I have seen this with the HP password storing software, it might have a wrong password stored for your username - try removing any lenovo security software and see if you still have the problem

From what i understood reading, the scripts adds them for outgoing mail when it passes through exchange, so you won't see it in your outbox. Were you testing with your own external email address?

EDIT: just reread your original question... I bought some cheap ones off ebuyer for about 20 quid (can't remember the make) and they wouldn't work with the convertors

Have you tried using a different driver? I have a similar issue on a few printers (same models). Might be worth getting the latest ones from the manufacturers website? Just out of curiosity what printer/s are causing you issues?
