I meant on the internet gateway appliance. Can you not ping between computers on those two VLANs if they're connected to the 3500?

I think you need to add a static route on your gateway to tell it that the 10.20.30/22 network is reachable through 192.168.1.250.

If you go fully cloud, you need to have a very good internet connection with some sort of backup link too. This can become very expensive. Also it's likely you'll still need local services, such as storing large files, streaming media etc. There is also a matter of trust, how much do you trust your cloud provider with your data? Although the positive is that it can offer great scalability and wide variety of free resources. In my opinion it's not a black and white decision about virtualisation vs cloud but finding a good compromise between the two. I would start there and once they concede going fully cloud isn't viable, suggest how you would start the move to a cloud by introducing localised virtual servers?

Things have changed a lot in a few years though Ian, a few years ago I would have suggested dual 1GbE to be fine myself. However looking forward, with the popularity of mobile devices and increased bandwidth requirements, I don't think that multiple gigabit links will cut it. If the budget is available to upgrade to 10GbE then I would say do it while you can as it's not something that you would regret.

Considering you are planning to future proof your set up and are expecting a lot more wireless devices to come into the network and also have 'N' standard wireless, 10GbE is a no brainer IMO. Having a solid backbone plays a key role to the full network infrastructure. As time goes on, there will be increased demands that smaller device will place on bandwidth requirements also and this needs to be factored in also.

I have a ASUS Transformer (TF101) and I really like it and i'm glad I bought it! The keyboard isn't as good as a convential keyboard but it is very useful for typing up notes and providing the extra battery power. I have a iPhone iOS and a HTC Android phone, in terms of the OS, I think they both have thier plus points. I would recommend getting in front of both and seeing which one you prefere. I personally liked the Android, hence I got the Transformer. To be honest, I have used the iPAD 2 as well and I really liked it also. I'd have to get a bluetooth keyboard with it though. I don't think you can go wrong buying either, but at the moment i'd give the Transformer the edge over the iPAD, though that's because of what I tend to use the tablet for..

Hi, Have you tried removing the konica minolta printer for the staff user, just to see if the issue goes away? If it does, then you know it deffo must be that printer causing the issue. Also might be worth trying to set another printer as the default printer, to see if that helps? Cheers,

From what I understand the x86 version of Windows 8 will provide more of a desktop type of OS whereas the WOA will be the full on Metro UI that we are seeing. It will be interesting to see what MS do based on the feedback they get from the beta release, if at all anything.
